- Tree
planting session with the Pilgrims school, we planted over 20
saplings along the centenary footpath to replace some of the
dead elms which have been removed over the last couple of
years. |

BBQ
and Burn -
7th

- BBQ
and Burn night for all members of BOSS a thank you for all of
the support throughout the year. A bonfire built of all the
old wood (excluding drift wood) that has floated up on to
Baty's marsh over the year's high tides. |

CO-OP
Footpath clearance -
3rd
October 2009 |
- A long
awaited clear up of the long footpath which runs from the top
of Borstal street, beside the Borstal co-op down to the
riverside. This footpath had been used as a dumping
ground for fly tipping and was over ground. We were lucky
enough to get many helpers on the day and we were able to
remove a very large amount of rubbish |

installation of Viewing platforms -
11th

- We
installed the rest of the benches in the viewing platform on
the marsh and continued with some clearance for easy views of
the river. |

Installation of viewing platforms -

Installation of picnic bench on the large viewing platform on
Baty's marsh at the bottom of Manor Lane. Also a litter pick
of the area and a clearance of some of the weed growth since
the marsh clearance. |

Clear up-

Another successful marsh clear up the 5th year of this event
and still a successful with large amounts of rubbish collected
making the area better for wildlife and visitors to the marsh. |

Litter
Pick of Borstal Recreation Ground-

- A successful
litter pick of the playing field, with lots of rubbished
collected. It make a big different to the football pitches and
the surrounding area when it has been litter picked. We
organise pick a couple of times a year. |

AGM-

AGM was well attended, it was very nice to welcome the Police
and receive a cheque for £400 towards projects . |
